  1. It was my privilege to have met Bill in December 2009 and on the odd occasion since then. I trust that Bill is at peace and free from pain. May Bill’s memory continue to remain with you all.

We loved Bill’s sense of humour and his great stories! He was so much fun! Bill was very private about his illness and he was brave. We will miss him, Ginette. Love Pat and Jeff xxoo

Ginette! Out thoughts are with you. At this moment I am a bit shaken up by the sad news. So many good times with Bill and you throughout the years. For years you have been gone from the streets of Fernie but our memories are still there. Who would not remember Bill with a smile, such a great guy! Take care Ginette! We are thinking of you. From your friends in Fernie. Claude and Lillis

I’ve only known Bill a few years, but it seems longer. He was very genuine, with no affectation. I envied his many adventures; he had his priorities straight. When I’m on local trails, I’ll think of Bill and his commitment to building these trails.

  5. Bruce "Buck" Laing says:

I am shocked at the news of Bill’s passing! I have only learned this in the last hour. Bill and I were close through the Lake Louise and Whistter days. Many trips into the back country with Bill. He loved the mountains, the outdoors in general and the trips to see new and exciting places. I recently posted some pictures, of some of our trips, on the Lake Louise Reunion site, in hopes, that I may connect with Bill, once again. I was quite anxious to say hello.
Last I saw “Beal”, he was living in Pemberton back in 1986. I was leaving Whistler and returning to the east, I said I’d be in touch. I lost track of Bill and I had no idea where he was or that he was ill. I regret not having found him before his passing. I shall miss Bill and cherish the times we shared and cherish even more the pictures I have to remember him by! So long my friend, rest now. Buck

  6. Pascal Gaignard says:

Knew Bill from Lake Louise, had some good times there and one of the reasons we were all living there is because we adored the mountains just like Bill did. Wish we could of re-connected, but life takes us in different directions and sometimes we have no control of our destiny. We will miss you and I hope some day we will meet again.
    Pascal.
